TPAE / Pebax Rnew®
Product Description:
Pebax® Rnew® grades are partially bio-based renewable elastomers, using the same source as Rilsan® polyamide 11 (PA11). Castor oil extracted from the seeds of the castor plant (a non-edible plant that requires little water to grow) is used to synthesize the basic building blocks of PA11. The Pebax® Rnew® grade is a polyether block amide in which the amide block is PA11, while the standard Pebax® grade has a block of PA12.
The percentage of renewable carbon is 45% (calculated value, based on ASTM D6866).
Refractive index of 1.49 according to internal methods
